RWD286 – Directoire Delights

Duration: 53 minutes

Sound: models talking.

Source: original VHS tape loaned to me.

Conversion: done by me, with menu and chapters added.

Notes: this is from an early Rosalind Woods VHS tape (it is in the 1993 catalogue – which itself is 30 years old as I type!). The quality is typical of something of that age, and there is the odd stutter, ‘warble’ or glitch. Still watchable though and it is now ‘preserved for posterity’. Below are some screen captures, and the catalogue entry.

RWD281 – Betty 1

Duration: 1 hour.

Sound: music throughout.

Source: digital file (from a VHS transfer by the looks of it).

Conversion: by me, with menu and chapters added.

Note: the editing on this is a bit weird. The opening section of film starts with Betty partially undressed, and looks like it should have been at the end of the tape where the final scene appears to end early. However, I have seen 2 sources of this tape now, and both feature this layout. This version has titles front and back, so is definitely how it was released.

I did think about re-editing and putting this sequence at the end of the DVD instead, but decided against it.

RWD280 – Mandy

Duration: 1 hour 21 minutes.

Sound: female “narration” throughout.

Source: original VHS (although not converted by me).

Conversion: the original VHS tape was preserved by someone else (the original owner), but there are no front or end titles. There are a few seconds missing from the front – but not much, the narration starts here with “…Mandy, and this is her flat in South London”. So very little missing. I took the digital file provided and converted to DVD, adding a menu, and putting chapters on.

RWD279 – Jennifer

Duration: 1 hour.

Sound: music throughout (see note).

Source: original VHS tape.

Conversion: by the original owner from VHS to mp4. I then converted to DVD. There was no sound on the original tape, so I have added a music soundtrack from another Rosalind Woods DVD. There were a few issues/glitches on the original tape, but this is the only copy I have come across so worth preserving for posterity. Also, there are no titles at the start or end.
